BSC honors Spring 2019 graduates
More than 620 students graduated from Bismarck State College after completing the Spring 2019 semester. The college's 79th commencement ceremony was held on May 10, 2019 at the Bismarck Event Center.

Dickinson State University 2018-2019 Graduates
More than 235 students from across the globe graduated from Dickinson State University in the 2018-2019 academic year, including the 2018 and 2019 summer semesters. This number includes the 156 baccalaureate and 37 associate degrees that were awarded at the University's 99th annual spring commencement ceremony Saturday, May 11, 2019.

The Concordia University, Nebraska Wind Ensemble, a select 40-member concert band, will be touring March 1-10, 2019, with stops in Illinois, Indiana and Kansas.

GPAC Offensive Player of the Week
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced that Jordan Mann(JR/Bismarck, N.D.) has been selected as the GPAC Offensive Player of the Week. Mann helped the Jimmies to an upset 41-39 win at Hastings (Neb.) on Saturday. He totaled 315 yards of total offense and accounted for four touchdowns (2 rushing, 2 passing). His 126 yards rushing were a career high. Mann led the Jimmies to the end zone on four of their five first-half possessions, including drives of 72, 67, 63, and 80 yards. The Jimmies will host top-ranked Morningside on November 10. Kickoff will be at noon from Rollie Greeno Field at Taylor Stadium.

Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that 532 men's soccer student-athletes have been named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Seven University of Jamestown student athletes--Kyle Fenske (SR/Savage, Minn.), Chris Hare (JR/Jamestown, N.D.), Hamish Mills (SR/Adelaide, Australia), Bryce Nybo (JR/Bismarck, N.D.), Ben Prochniak (SR/West Fargo, N.D.), Matt Serrato (SR/San Diego, Calif.), and Jean Avitt-Youth(JR/Limbe, Cameroon)--were selected for the honor. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Christmas at Concordia weekend kicks off the holiday season
Four Christmas at Concordia concerts brought more than 3,000 guests, including Seward County residents, residents from Nebraska and other states, Concordia alumni, students, and others to St. John Lutheran Church near campus. The concerts featured the Women's Cantamus Choir, Male Chorus, Concordia Handbell Choir, University Brass Ensemble, University A Cappella Choir and University Symphonic Band.

This award was established by the brothers and sisters of Kennedy S. Warner, a Jamestown College student killed in World War I. The Selection is based on the student's scholastic record, participation in intercollegiate athletics, and high ideals.

The Special Olympics Scholarship
This is an annual scholarship funded by supporters of the Area Nine Special Olympics. The scholarship recipient will be involved in Special Olympics for two or more years, possesses a 2.3 GPA or higher, be a certified chaperone or coach for Special Olympics, demonstrate leadership skills, and be an ambassador for community involvement in Special Olympics.
